Sometimes we have to organize our thoughts in order to discover our priorities. Here evangelist Jeff Chacon shares his thoughts to set his heart daily!
“I want to be in love with God”
“One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.” (Psalm 27:4)
I don’t want religion – I want relationship.
I don’t want to just believe in God – I want to be in love with God.
I want to wake up each morning and be delighted with the thought of God.
I want to quickly get to my favorite prayer spot, anticipating something special and new each morning.
I want to dig into my Bible like a treasure hunter looking for fine pearls.
I want to pray like David – passionate about everything, wrestling with my heart, and constantly trying to claw my way into the next dimension.
I don’t want to go through life alone.
I want to go through life with Him.
I don’t want to waste my time on earth.
I want to make every moment count.
I don’t want to be drawn to the pleasures of this world.
I want to be allured by the lover of my soul.
I don’t want to worry – I want to pray.
I don’t want to fear – I want to trust.
I don’t want to hope – I want to know.
I don’t want to live for myself – I want to live for others.
I don’t want to seek diversion – I want to seek conversions.
I don’t want to be temporarily wealthy – I want to be eternally rich.
I don’t want to be like the world – I want to be like my Lord.
I don’t want to fit in – I want to stand out.
I don’t want to make myself comfortable – I want to make myself useful.
I don’t want religion… I want relationship.
I don’t want to just believe in God… I want to be in love with God.
